Horton Plains, Kirigalpottha and Thotupola Kanda are some great places to walk and Hike up in the Hills in the cooler Climate, through the Cloud Forests.
You get to see some Wildlife unique to these Hills such as Purple- Faced Monkey, Horned Lizard, Samba Deer and a lot of Birds including SriLankan White-Eye and the Black Eagle. The Knuckles Mountain range has so many different Climatic Zones and this isolated range of Majestic Mountains, is a Paradise for Hikers.
The Hantana Mountain range, close to Kandy is one of the most isolated, but one of the best hikes in the Country. The range has seven peaks. On a good clear Day, the beautiful city of Kandy can be seen from the first Peak. The Sinharaja Rain Forest is Unique to SriLanka with so many endemic species of Flora and Fauna. This one of the few virgin Rainforests in the Words and has been declared as a UNESCO Word Heritage Site.

This is an amazing climb close to the well-known Nine-Arch Bridge in Ella. You walk along the Train Track before starting the Hike. Once you get to the top
through the Forests and little Villages, you get to see the 180 Degree view of Ella.

The isolated back roads of SriLanka with stunning Scenery have attracted the Bikers who sometimes, ride from one end to the other end of the Country. They Cycle through the little Villages and Rice Paddy fields, stop at little local Shops for a Coconut or some local specialities.
