Sri Lankan Airlines is the only airline that offers a direct service to Colombo. Flights are from London Heathrow, Terminal 3. A few flights stop for a very short time at Male in the Maldives but the majority are non stop.

Colombo International Airport (CMB) is also known as Bandaranaike International Airport or Katunayake International Airport.
It is about one hour’s drive north of Colombo city center and is about 30mins drive south of Negombo.
You will need to obtain an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) prior to your visit to Sri Lanka.
Here are the key things to prepare before you leave the UK.
You can apply directly for an online ETA before travelling to Sri Lanka.
Do not apply too early as it is only valid for 90 days from the date you apply.
The cost for the ETA is 35US$ (about £28) if you are a UK citizen.
Children under the age of 12 are free.
If you can’t apply before travelling, you can obtain a Visa on entering Sri Lanka for 40US$pp (about £32).
When applying, you will need your passport details, flight details and the name and address of your first hotel on your tour.
Payment is made by either credit card or e-commerce enabled debit cards. Only Visa, MasterCard and American Express Cards are accepted.
Do not apply too early as it is only valid for 90 days from the date you apply.
